U8 Mites
Our U8 Mite teams compete in the Valley Hockey League which feature teams that range from AAA to A level competition to ensure the best competitive experience for our players and teams.
The program is design as the building blocks for our players hockey career with focus on skating, hockey skills, and game play in a balanced fun and competitive environment.

Please process the registration on our website and send an email to secretary@jrfalcons.org as well.
We will then be able to handle your player's team placement appropriately.
Ages
U8 Mites are open to any player in birth years 2017 and younger
It is recommended for players ages 6 and older, younger players can be considered for participation.
2025 -26 Season Schedule
The Season starts the last week in August and runs through Mid- March
The teams practice 1 to 2 times per week and games are almost all played on the weekends.
Teams will receive at least 40 practices during the season
Practice and game locations
Practices are all held at the Wallace Civic Center in Fitchburg.
Games are scheduled by the valley league and locations can vary.
Practices
Teams practice 1 to 2 times per week. Practices are held weeknights at either 5:30 or 6:30 PM
In addition, the teams will have additional skills nights scheduled separately from the practice schedule, and still held at Wallace Civic Center
Games
Teams play around 30 Regular Season games as part of the Valley League and in addition teams will have at least 1 playoff game.
Jerseys and other team items
All players are provided Game and Practice Jerseys and game socks.
New Players to the program will also receive a player bag and pant shells once assigned to team and paid deposit commitment.
TUITION INFORMATION
Tuition for the 2025-26 is as follows:
- $145 Roster Deposit to guarantee team placement after tryouts
- 10 Monthly payments from May - February of $135
- Player team offers will be sent out no later than 1 week after last tryout date
EXTRA COSTS
If teams decide to play tournaments, scrimmages or any additional team experiences (i.e. UMass Lowell / Boston College, misc Team Nights) those would be separate cost per player

2025 / 2026 Season
Registration for the 2025-2026 U8 Mite Season is now open.
Tryouts are scheduled for the week of March 10th. All skaters should be prepared with full ice hockey gear and hockey stick.
The Mite division offers all players to rotate into the Goalie spot, we do not have a rostered spot for Goalies. Any interested Goalie should come to evaluations as a skater for this U8 age group.
